Fans of Howl’s Moving Castle can recreate the titular character’s iconic bedroom aesthetic with a line of home products, newly re-released by Studio Ghibli’s official online store by popular demand.
The collection of Howl’s Moving Castle products, known as the “Howl’s Sleeping Room” line, comes courtesy of Donguri Sora, which produces some of the highest quality and authentically licensed Ghibli-themed fashion and furnishings. Among the products on offer from the line are an exclusive drawstring bag, a flat pouch style clutch bag, cushion covers and a tote bag. All of these products are labeled with a gold and black Howl’s Moving Castle tag embroidered with the titular character’s sleeping visage, made in the iconic floral print from within the film’s eponymous locale.

Most importantly for diehard fans of the film, the “Howl’s Sleeping Room” line also includes a matching pillowcase and duvet cover set that, like the rest of the products from the collection, painstakingly recreates the fabric patterns seen in Howl’s Moving Castle. Rather than being simply printed or embroidered onto these pieces, the fabris is custom-made to match that seen in the film, even down to the faint, near-watermarked printing that extends the entire length of the duvet cover and pillow cases on both sides. All the products in the “Howl’s Sleeping Room” line are designed and produced by Benelic.
Based on Diana Wynne Jones’ 1986 fantasy novel of the same name, Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle was written and directed by legendary filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. The film follows Sophie, a young milliner who comes across the wizard Howl just prior to a far less friendly encounter with the Witch of the Waste, who transforms Sophie into an elderly woman for her troubles. This sets Sophie off on a quest to break her curse, which in turn brings her into the towering, mechanized home of Howl. After wedging her way into his life by hiring herself as his housekeeper, Sophie and Howl grow closer than they could have ever imagined, leading to the start of a budding romance following the film’s explosive climax.
